St. Louis, MO:  By unanimous vote of the Phyllis Schlafly Eagle Forum Education and Legal Defense Fund board, national Republican conservative Marylin Shannon was elected as a director of the board. Marylin is a long-time Eagle and a friend of the late Phyllis Schlafly.
"Marylin worked closely with my mother for many years, and has always supported our pro-family and pro-USA values," said Eagle Forum Education and Legal Defense board member Dr. Bruce Schlafly.  "We are extremely pleased that she has agreed to join our board, which is composed of unpaid citizen volunteers.  We are grateful for her willingness to serve."

"I am honored to join Phyllis Schlafly's board and to follow the lead of her sons and her hand-picked successor Ed Martin," said Marylin Shannon. "Phyllis was a great leader, cherished friend, and I enjoyed the many times we were fighting for good conservative principles. I look forward to doing that with Ed and her other loyal Eagles."

Marylin Shannon currently serves as the Republican national committeewoman from Oregon.  She served two terms in the Oregon State Senate, sponsoring many notable conservative pieces of legislation; has served as delegate to the Republican National Convention six times; and has served in various Republican positions in Oregon for over 30 years.

Eagle Forum Education and Legal Defense Fund was founded by Phyllis Schlafly. It continues her work and has been leading on conservative issues despite opposition by rogue members who have tried to take over other aspects of Phyllis' work.
